Turn left on 4th Street (you'll see a green sign indicating 5 miles to Jardine) and go up the hill for 1.5 miles. Turn right on Above the Rest Lane at the sign for the Yellowstone Overlook Field Campus (by the big wood mountain man) and follow the signs to the cabins.

From Yellowstone, leave the park through the North Entrance and go through the Roosevelt Arch. Turn left on Highway 89 towards Livingston. Cross the bridge over the Yellowstone River. You will see the Cenex gas station on your left and 4th Street on your right. Turn right on 4th Street (you'll see a green sign indicating 5 miles to Jardine) and go up the hill for 1.5 miles. Turn right on Above the Rest Lane at the sign for the Yellowstone Overlook Field Campus (by the big wood mountain man) and follow the signs to the cabins.

Arrival and Departure: Our campus host will greet your group between 4 and 8 p.m. on the day of your arrival. You must check out by 9 a.m. on the day of your departure.

Phone: Most cell phones work at the Overlook. The campus hosts have a phone for emergency use.

Internet: WiFi is not available in the cabins but is available at several businesses in Gardiner, Montana (1.5 miles down the hill).

Exploring: Feel free to take a walk down to the Yellowstone River. Wildlife is abundant. You may see bison, wolves, elk, and deer. You may also see rattlesnakes. Use your common sense and please let someone know your plans if you will be away from the facility.

Neighbors: Our camp hosts live in the second cabin. They will help orient you to your facility and available for emergencies 24 hours a day.

Vehicles: Parking is available in front of your cabin. Please do not store food in your vehicle.

Smoking: Smoking is your choice, but Montana State Law prohibits smoking in any cabins, other buildings, or Institute vehicles.

Animals: Please do not feed any animals here or any place in the park. It's tempting, but in the long run you're only doing the animals a disservice by creating an unnatural dependence on humans which often leaves them unprepared for natural events. Service animals are permitted. Please inquire when you register.

No Collecting: It is important that no one collects and takes any objects out of the park. It is also against the law. With three million visitors each year, the best policy is that we do what we can to minimize our disturbances as we explore the park.

Quiet Time: The facility is intended to be a fun and stimulating place, yet retreat-like too. Please be sensitive to activities of yours that may disturb people's quiet time after 10 p.m.
