Mission
Yellowstone Association, in partnership with the National Park Service, connects people to Yellowstone National Park and our natural world through education.
Founded
1933
Aid provided to Yellowstone
$27,781,399 since inception; $3,260,116 in cash and in-kind support in 2010. A large portion of financial support in recent years is being used to produce exhibits for the Canyon Visitor Education Center and the Albright Visitor Center and to support educational content on the park’s official website.

Donations to the Yellowstone Association are tax-deductible.
Governed by
Board of Trustees. Board consists of sixteen business and community leaders from across the United States. Board members serve without pay; each board member pays his/her own expenses to attend semi-annual meetings and committee meetings.
Professional Staff
Thirty-one year-round paid staff members; approximately fifty additional seasonal staff members and twenty-five volunteers.

Membership Program
Number of members: Over 30,000
Membership dues: Memberships start at $35 per year. The membership program supports educational efforts in Yellowstone National Park.
Membership benefits:
A family membership (covering the entire family including children through age 18).
- Seasonal lodging discounts in the park.
- A 15 percent discount on items sold by the Yellowstone Association (in visitor centers, on the Association's website: www.yellowstoneassociation.org or by mail).
- Informative quarterly publication, Yellowstone Discovery.
- Credit for a tax-deductible gift.
- Discounts on Yellowstone Association Institute field courses and products.
- The opportunity to register for Yellowstone Association Institute course one week before non-members.
Discounts at many Association bookstores in visitor centers at other national parks.

Yellowstone Association Institute
Number of classes: Over 500 courses, seminars and guided educational trips per year
Number of participants: Approximately 6000 per year
Average length of class: Two to five days
Average cost of class: Field seminar tuition averages $100 per day for classes; simple cabins are available to participants for an additional $30 per night. Lodging and Learning courses average $175 per day which includes instruction, some meals, lodging in park hotels, and course transportation. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover accepted for tuition and cabin fees.
Educational sales
In-park: Ten Yellowstone Park Stores including: Gardiner Arch Store, Old Faithful Visitor Center, Albright (Mammoth) Visitor Center, Norris Geyser Basin Museum, Canyon Visitor Education Center, Madison Information Station, West Thumb Information Station, Grant Visitor Center, and the Fishing Bridge Visitor Center. Yellowstone Association sales areas are also in operation at the Forest Service office in Gardiner, Montana, and the Hebgen Lake Visitor Center (Forest Service) near West Yellowstone, Montana.
Mail order sales: The Yellowstone Association offers hundreds of Yellowstone-related educational items for sale by mail order. Discounts are available to schools and libraries. Orders may be placed by calling 406-848-2400 or purchasing online at www.yellowstoneassociation.org. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards are accepted for all purchases.
Annual sales: Yellowstone Association sales of educational materials totalled approximately $3.1 million in fiscal year 2010.
