Suggested Clothing & Equipment

The items listed below are suggested for your comfort and enjoyment. The items are not required, but make for a better experience.

  • Water bottle
  • Thermos for hot liquids
  • Snacks
  • Sunglasses
  • Insect repellent (summer only)
  • Sun screen & lip protector
  • Backpack
  • A small piece of foam or stadium chair, for sitting or standing on
  • Camera & film
  • Binoculars
  • Spotting Scope and tripod
  • Notebook & pencil
  • Pocket hand/foot warmers

Additional suggestions for winter:

  • Synthetic underwear such as polypropylene
  • Pile shirt or wool sweater
  • Down coat or vest
  • Wind and rain shell made of breathable nylon such as Gore-tex
  • Light-weight gloves
  • Heavy Gore-tex gloves or mittens (winter)
  • Insulated hat that can cover your ears
  • Light-weight hat that can shade your face
  • Neck gaiter or scarf (winter)
  • Thick pile or wool socks
  • Shell pants (gore-tex) or wool pants
  • Boots with water repellent layers outside and thick insulation inside
