Meg Sommers (Autumn Wildlife Photography) is an award-winning professional nature photographer who photographs Yellowstone’s many wonders year-round. A resident of Cody, Wyoming, she is a knowledgeable naturalist. Her dual passions for both nature and photography combine with her enthusiasm for sharing the magic of it all. She had been a professional photo tour guide in Yellowstone for more than five years.

Dan Stahler, Ph.D. candidate (A Deeper View of Wolves: Genes, Environments, and Behavior ) has studied wolves since 1996. He earned his master’s degree studying the relationship between Yellowstone’s ravens and wolves and is now researching wolf social dynamics and genetics for his doctorate. He is the project biologist for the Yellowstone Wolf Project, where he helps coordinate and direct research on wolves, their prey, and scavenger communities.

Nathan Varley, Ph.D. (Food for the Masses: Researching How Yellowstone’s Wolves Affect Scavengers; The Living History of Yellowstone’s Wolves) is a natural and cultural historian specializing in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, where he has lived almost his entire life. As a wildlife biologist, he has studied many of Yellowstone’s large mammals, including elk, wolves, bears, and bison. His doctoral research at the University of Alberta focused on the effects of wolf restoration on the park’s northern range elk herd.

Rick Wallen, M.S. (The Buffalo Story ) is the wildlife biologist and team leader for Yellowstone National Park’s Bison Ecology and Management Program. He has served the National Park Service as chief of resource Management at Bryce Canyon National Park, fish and wildlife biologist at Redwood National Park, and resource management Biologist at Grand Teton National Park prior to joining the staff at Yellowstone in 2002.

Lee Whittlesey, M.A., J.D., Ph.D. (Hon.) (History of the Military and Fort Yellowstone) can tell you who named Old Faithful, when it happened, and probably what the weather was. He is Yellowstone National Park’s historian. He has written more than a half dozen books about the park, including Death In Yellowstone and A Guide to Yellowstone Waterfalls and Their Discovery. His most recent book is Storytelling in Yellowstone: Horse-and-Buggy Tour Guides in the Grand Old Park, 1872–1920.
